Radford Farmer's Market

The winds howled for two days and nights but turned calm just in time for a beautiful day at The Radford Farmers Market. With beautiful sunshine in the sky, Vittles for Vets was the guest non-profit for the week of May 1st and the crowd did not disappoint. Surrounded by other wonderful vendors with beautiful plants, crafts and homemade baked goods for sale Vittles was a busy booth as people stopped to check out the selection of merchandise and find out more about the organization. The market runs 9 am to 1 pm every Saturday April thru October and we were wishing the day was actually longer when it was over. Vittles brought in $343.00 for the day, $178.00 of that which was donations. It was aspiring to see a young child put money into the donation jar as their parent explained we were helping people like his “Pappy” who was in the military and helped protect our country. The Vittles for Vets cookbook, “Mess Hall Favorites” was a big hit as were the t-shirts, hats, window clings and masks. Thank you to Tammy Roop and Candi Barker for giving up their Saturday to come help set up, sell and take everything down. And a very special thank you to Kathy Bailey and The Radford Farmers Market for letting us set up.
